ZAPATA, TEXAS — Wilfredo "Fred" Lopez Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfredo and Leonor Lopez.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Maria Lopez; his daughter, Daniela M. Lopez; his brother, Adan G. (Norma) Lopez; his sisters, Inez C. (Antonio) Gonzalez, Edna (Tino III) Aleman, and Nora L. Gonzalez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
