Wanda Pearl (Whited) Campbell passed away on August 7, 2021 in her home surrounded by two of her daughters and one of her grandsons.  She was born on October 16, 1937 in Parkersburg, WV to Russell and Adath (Rhodes) Whited, the youngest of eight siblings.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Richard) Campbell Wakefield, Vicki Campbell Benavides,  Rebecca (Thomas) Campbell King, Timothy (Steve) Machado Campbell;  her grandchildren, Ernesto (Shelly) Rendon, Beto Vasquez, John (Marcy) Ratcliff, Robert (Kim) Vasquez, Jessica (Ray) Makhani, Stephen Ratcliff, Erica (†Matthew) Blake, David (Samantha) Garza, Beth (Oscar) Ruiz; and her great-grandchildren, Jaslene and Julie Rendon, Ethan, Elijah and Delilah Makhani, Lucas and Austin Garza, Katie, Isaac and Hailey Vasquez, Isabella Vasquez, Caleb, Nathan, Jena, Lucas and Judah Blake, and Alyssa, Zoe and Kara Ratcliff.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Rev. Bill Campbell, and by her parents and siblings. She fulfilled a life-long dream when she completed her nurses training in 1980 and subsequently worked in pediatrics and obstetrics at local hospitals and as a school nurse in Zapata.  She loved music and children; nothing made her happier than rocking a baby or listening to Southern Gospel music.  She supported her husband's ministry as an accomplished pianist in various churches.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28 with public visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the service at 10:30.

Burial will be in Zapata Cemetery immediately following the service.  The family requests that all attendees wear masks and maintain social distancing.
