ZAPATA, TEXAS---Viola G. Martinez 85, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 in McAllen, Texas.

Ms. Martinez is preceded in death by her husband, Antioco Martinez; parents, Arturo E. and Francisca Gonzalez; brothers, Derly, Manuel (Elena), Arturo and a sister, Lydia Gonzalez.

Ms. Martinez is survived by her daughter, Viola M. (Phillip) De Leon; son, Arturo III (Marissa) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Julissa Gonzalez, Nichole Gonzalez, Jada De Leon, Arturo IV (Alexia) Gonzalez, Arely Gonzalez (Juan Alejandro Garcia), Austeen Gonzalez; great-grandchild, A.J. Garcia; sisters, Dora (†Guillermo) Ramirez, Cira (Paul) Stickland; sisters-in-law, Adaljisa Gonzalez, Amelia Gonzalez and by numerous cousins,  nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Thursday, April 8, 2021 we will open at 9:00 a.m. and depart at 10:30 a.m. for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Lopeño Cemetery.
