ZAPATA, TX---Viola Wren Bynum, a former resident of Zapata, passed away December 25 ^th , 2018 at Kingwood Medical Center.

She was born January 5th, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Paul Bynum and daughter Holly Ryan.

She is survived by three children: Larry Bynum of Humble, TX; Robin Franklin of Harlingen, TX; and Don Bynum of Del Rio, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Robbe and Kandi Lankford; Micah and Jared Bynum; Jason, Luke, and Derek Franklin; Hope Alexander; and Zachery Bynum. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren: Oryan Holder; Karlee Seals; Mikayla Donoho; Hailey, Hunter, Harper, and Henry Bynum; Maximus and Kataleya Franklin; and Sutton Alexander. She also had four great-great grandchildren: Adlei and Sutton Holder; and Bennon and Annzlee Seals.

A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, January 5 ^th , 2019 at 10:00 AM at Zapata County Cemetery.
