Zapata, TX--- Timothy Jude Griffin 48, passed away on January 29, 2022 in Laredo, Texas at Doctors Hospital.

Tim was a member of the Class of 1991 of ZHS. He was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Zapata, TX. Tim was a true Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan. He never missed a game.

Tim owned and operated Tim's Oilfield Service for many years. He also had Falcon Lake Guide Trips with Tim Griffin where he won 1st place Bass Master's fishing solo, and several other Bass Tournaments fishing solo. This was his favorite pastime since his childhood. He would wade out into chest deep water to catch those big fish long before he owned a boat. If you were crossing the Veleno bridge in Zapata, it was common to see Tim fishing off his boat. This is how he will be remembered by friends and family.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Paul Griffin; brother, Michael J. Griffin; grandparents, Jack R. & Anna A. Griffin and O.W. & Edna P. Sellers; aunt Dorcas (Dennis) Fraser; uncle, John R. Griffin; aunt, Peggy Griffin; cousins Carrie H. Griffin, Stacy White, and Michelle Sellers; nephew, Roberto E. Guevara and brother-in-law, Eduardo J. Guevara.

Tim is survived by his mother, Debra S. (Robert) Lairson; sisters, Rachel R. (Jesse) Garcia & Clara E. (Ricardo) De los Santos; brothers, James (Veronica) Griffin & Stephen A. Griffin; sister-in-law, Marien S. (Michael) Griffin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
