ZAPATA, TEXAS-- Sonny Gonzalez 40, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his residence in Zapata Texas.

Sonny, is preceded in death by his parents, Raul Rene and Estefana Gonzalez.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jo Ann Gonzalez; daughters, Savannah Jolynn Cherry, Madison Ann Cisneros; son Ricardo Tovar Jr.; brother, Paul Gonzalez and by numerous nephews, nieces, family members and friends.

Sonny is a Roma High School graduate class of 2003. And a former Starr County Constable Pct. 7, from 2009 to 2020.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Friday August 8, 2025, we will open at 8:00 a.m. and depart at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Zapata Texas.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
