ZAPATA, TEXAS---Soledad Mejia de Gonzalez, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Mejia de Gonzalez is preceded in death by her husband, Santiago S. Gonzalez; son, Pedro Gonzalez and parents, Tranquilino and Severa Mejia.

Mrs. Mejia de Gonzalez is survived by her son, Ruben Gonzalez; daughters, Elda Gonzalez, Elva Gonzalez, Enedelia (Angel) Maldonado, Rosa (Santiago) Villarreal; grandchildren, Eva (Lance) Martinez, Ruben Jr. (Crissy) Gonzalez, Edith Martinez, Marithza (Noel) Alvarez, Cindy Stanford, Claudia Elizondo, Joel (Dana) Elizondo, Felipe III (Corina) Martinez, Cristina (John) Benavidez, Angel Maldonado, Jr., Rebeca (Kevin) Perez, Angelica Maldonado, Andrew James Villarreal  and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 9 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Zapata County Cemetery.

Due to the current pandemic, family has requested a private viewing for immediate family only. Public can remain in their vehicles while at funeral home and follow in the procession to cemetery and again remain in the vehicles while funeral is taking place at the Zapata Co. Cemetery. Family would like to thank everyone for their prayers or any other acts of kindness.
