Shryll Avaritt, 74, of Zapata, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Born Shryll Dean Rogers on November 18, 1946 in Fall, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Billie Ruth Borden and John Howell Rogers.

She married Charles Edmond Avaritt III on August 12, 1980.  She enjoyed sewing, upholstery, and remodeling homes.  She started her college education at 53 and graduated from Texas A&M International University with a Bachelor of Arts and a teaching certificate in 2002.  She then taught Language Arts at Zapata Junior High School.

Mrs. Avaritt was a member of the Zapata English Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Edmond Avaritt III of Zapata, Texas; sister, Laura Young and husband Tommy of Buffalo, Texas; brother, Danny Rogers and wife Tina of Cleveland, Texas; daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Avaritt of Laredo, Texas; and grandson, Leonardo Raymundo Leal of Laredo, Texas.
