ZAPATA, TEXAS---Sergio Montalvo 65, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Montalvo is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Policarpo Montalvo and Rafaela H. Montalvo and a brother, Jose Policarpo Montalvo, Jr.

Mr. Montalvo is survived by his sons, Sergio C. (Audrey) Montalvo, Sergio Rene Montalvo; daughters, Rebecca D. Montalvo, Brianda G. (Luis M.) Chapa; grandchildren, Rebekah N. Salinas, R. Andres Salinas, Luis M. Chapa, II, Alyssah B. Bolaños, Isabella Faith Chapa, Adriel C. Montalvo, Christian I. Montalvo, Cassandra L. Chapa; brothers, Jose Rafael (Enedina) Montalvo, Rolando (Emma) Montalvo, Hector (Maria Guadalupe) Montalvo, Dr. Juan F. (Ada) Montalvo, Gilberto Montalvo (Susie Gutierrez); sisters, Maria Elena (Juan Manuel) Ledesma, Maria (Steve) Walters, Maria Guadalupe (Guillermo) Mendez, Maria Teresa Montalvo, Veronica (Luis) Covington; sister-in-law, Diana L. Montalvo; 1 ^st wife, Osvelia Bustamante and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Jose R. Montalvo, Rolando Montalvo, Gilberto Montalvo, Dr. Juan F. Montalvo, Sergio C. Montalvo, Luis M. Chapa, Johnny Navarro and R. Andres Salinas.

Honorary Pallbearers were Hector Montalvo, Rebekah N. Salinas, Luis M. Chapa, II, Adriel C. Montalvo, Christian I. Montalvo, Alyssah B. Bolaños, Isabella F. Chapa and Cassandra L. Chapa.

Visitation hours were held on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
