ZAPATA, TEXAS---Sergio Alonzo Gonzalez 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Laredo Nursing and Rehab in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Gonzalez is preceded in death by his father, Sigifredo Gonzalez and a brother, Mario A. Gonzalez.

Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his mother, Elma Gonzalez; son, Sergio A. Gonzalez, Jr.; daughters, Cassandra L. Gonzalez, Melissa M. (James H.) Aguirre, Leslie M. Sanchez; grandchildren, Miya Gonzalez, Alia Aguirre, Jesse Sanchez, Gia Aguirre; former wife and life-long friend, Veronica Gonzalez; brother, Sigifredo Jr. (Carmen M.) Gonzalez; sister, Linda S. Gonzalez; sister-in-law, Marta S. Gonzalez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Sergio was Class of 1978 of J.W. Nixon.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
