ZAPATA, TEXAS- With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Santiago "Chago" Solis Jr.

Chago was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first. His strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication helped shape the lives of his two children, who will forever be grateful for his unconditional love, guidance, and support.

To his grandchildren, he was more than a grandfather—he was their hero, their role model, and their biggest fan. He cherished every moment spent with them and created memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Chago will be remembered for his generous heart, warm sense of humor, and selfless nature. He always went above and beyond for those he loved, especially his grandchildren. He shared his love freely and left a lasting legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to family.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. His love, lessons, and cherished memories will continue to live on in our hearts forever.

Chago is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Blanca Aurora Solis. 

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Rosa B. Solis; his children, Lisa S. (Daniel) Villarreal and Santiago (Michelle) Solis III; his grandchildren, Kristina Marie (Romeo) Ramirez III, Theresa Villarreal, Natalie Michelle (Juan) Zapata, Santiago Solis IV, Marcos Solis, and Kaelynn Solis; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Luke Daniel Ramirez and Juan Felipe Zapata Jr.

Chago's love for his family was immeasurable, and his memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
