ZAPATA, TEXAS--- Sandra Maria Flores entered the kingdom of heaven in the early morning hours of March 30, 2021at Doctors Hospital of Laredo after a lengthy illness.

She was 72 years of age. Sandy, as we all called her, was preceded in death by her father, Angel Flores, her brother, Angel Flores, Jr., her beloved Madrina, Astrid Flores and her favorite uncle Juventino Flores.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Menita Flores; brother, David (Irma) Flores; nephews, Michael Flores and Carlos (Misha) Flores; nieces, Linda (Josh Allen) Flores and Judy (Pavan Kanendale) Davis; grand-nephew, Levon Allen Flores and her favorite cousin and best friend, Helen Yvonne Trapp. Sandy is also survived by her aunts, Maria Vaughn, Pepi Camerlengo and many cousins who she was very close to.

Sandy was kind and gentle soul whose presence in our lives will be profoundly missed. Sandy worked at the LJC and TAMIU library for many years where she made many friends.

We would like to thank Dr. Luis Benavides and staff, the nursing staff at Bright Star, and her care givers, nephew, Mike Flores, sister-in-law Irma Flores and Elvia Garcia for their constant support during Sandy's illness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Doctors Hospital ER for their compassionate care during Sandy's final moments.

Private funeral services were held at Rose Garden Funeral Home on Zapata, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Zapata County Cemetery next to her father.
