ZAPATA, TEXAS---San Juana Barrera, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Doctor's Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Barrera is preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Martina Almaguer and a sister, Guadalupe Almaguer.

Mrs. Barrera is survived by her husband of 48 years, Juan F. Barrera; sons, Juan F. (Anel) Barrera, Jesus (Lucero) Barrera, Julio (Miriam) Barrera, Wilfredo (Mayra) Barrera; grandchildren, Juan F. Barrera, Jr., James Barrera, Jessie Barrera, Jr., Joanna Barrera, Janey Barrera, Jesus Barrera, Jr., Jackeline Barrera, Juan Manuel Barrera, Nathan Barrera, Jessica Barrera, Julio Barrera, Jr., JoEllie Barrera, Wilfredo Barrera, Jr., Abigail Barrera, Gabino Barrera, Bruno Barrera; great-grandchild, Ahriana Barrera; brothers, Martin Almaguer, Ignacio Almaguer; sisters, Eulalia Minor, Aurelia Almaguer, Maria Almaguer and Margarita Almaguer and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

We would like to inform the community that due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), County and State mandates we will be having a private viewing for immediate family members only.

A private graveside service will be held at Zapata County Cemetery.
