ZAPATA, TEXAS---Ruben Peña 76, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Peña is preceded in death by his parents, Gonzalo and Paula Peña.

Mr. Peña is survived by his wife, Irma R. Peña; son, Ruben G. (†Minerva) Peña; grandchildren, Ruben G. Jr. (Nancy) Peña , Irma I. (Ricardo) De Los Santos, Daniel A. Peña; great grandchildren , Delyssa I. De Los Santos, Nadine Peña, Eric Peña; brothers, Basilio (Rosa) Peña, Jose Luis (Vicky) Peña; sisters, Elfida (Juan M.) Garcia, Zulema Benavides, Marta Peña, Maria De La Luz (Javier) Flores; and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
