ZAPATA, TEXAS Ruben Pena 79, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Zapata Texas.

Mr. Peña is preceded in death by his grandson, Isidro Peña, great-grandchild, Virlan Ledesma; parents, Isidro and Domitila Peña; sister, Zenaida Mercado.

Mr. Peña survived by his wife, Armandina V. Peña; son, Jose Ruben (Armandina T.) Peña, Isidro Peña, Rene (Ybet) Peña, Roberto Peña; daughter, Gloria Alicia Quintero, Claudia (Benito) Ubalde, Armandina (Antonio Jr.) Gonzalez, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sisters, Rosa (†Cesar) Gutierrez, Guillermina (Eulalio) Sanchez; brother in-law, Benjamin Mercado and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. with a chapel service at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
