ZAPATA, TEXAS---Ruben Garza 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Doctor's Hospital in Edinburg, Texas.

Mr. Garza is preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Garza; parents, Wistano and Loreta Garza; brothers, Jesus (Felipita) Garza, Medrano Garza and a sister, Eva Garza.

Mr. Garza is survived by his daughters, Leyda L. Pacheco, Ludivina (Homero A.) Guzman, Maria Edith Garza, America Garza; grandchildren, Javier A. (Nancy) Martinez, Myra S. (Manuel M. III) Garcia, Annabel Guzman, Kristina Gutierrez, Javier Contreras, Jr., Viviana L. Salinas, Joel R. Pacheco, Jr. and Rochelle N. Pacheco; great-grandchildren, Manuel M. Garcia, IV, Maya S. Garcia, Mason M. Garcia, Ximena Martinez and Makaylah Martinez; sisters, Odilia (†Jose Luis) Estrada; Umbalina Garza and by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 8 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will on depart at 10 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
