ZAPATA, TEXAS---Roel Villarreal 85, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Villarreal is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria M. Villarreal and a brother Francisco (Aminda) Villarreal.

Mr. Villarreal is survived by his sons, Roel M. (Lorena) Villarreal Jr., Jerry (Lupita) Villarreal; grandchildren, Daniella M. Villarreal, Diego Villarreal and Lucia Villarreal;  brothers, Derly (†Nena) Villarreal, Anibal (Manuela) Villarreal and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Mr. Villarreal was a U.S. Army Veteran, and served in the Korean War era.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday June, 14, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 10 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. graveside service at Zapata County Cemetery including a full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 486 Color Guard.
