ZAPATA, TEXAS---Roberto Eduardo Guevara 24, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Robert was a member of the class of 2011 of ZHS. He was very active in golfing, fishing, hunting, dirt & street bike riding, skateboarding and so many others. He co-owned and operated 24HR Hooker Service and was employed part-time as a roustabout in water transfer for fracking, welding, auto parts sales and customizing autos. Robert was a Jack of all trades.

Robert seemed to be present when others were in need. He saved a young man from drowning at La Roca Ranch in 2009, and in September of 2017 he helped rescue another young man that was trapped in his vehicle north of San Ygnacio, TX. He was given an award for bravery by the Zapata County Fire Department. He then made the ultimate sacrifice by becoming an organ donor. Robert will live on in others.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Eduardo J. Guevara; uncle, Juan A. Guevara, Jr.; uncle, Michael Griffin and grandfather, Paul Griffin.

Robert is survived by his mother, Rachel R. (Benjamin) Garcia; girlfriend, Marizol Pacheco; children, Roberto Antonio Guevara, Roslyn Marie Guevara and Aria Rayne Guevara; step-brothers and sisters, Victor J. Garcia, Ashlee M. Garcia, Alex M. Garcia and Eric M. Valdez; grandparents, Juan A. Guevara, Sr., Rosa M. Guevara, Debra H. (Robert) Lairson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
