ZAPATA, TEXAS, Roberto Gavilanes, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Gavilanes is survived by his parents, Daniel and Felicitas Gavilanes; brothers, Octavio (Virgina) Gavilanes, Daniel (Bertha) Gavilanes, †Enrique (Sandra) Gavilanes, Francisco (Olga) Gavilanes, Martin Gavilanes (Nelly Villarreal); sisters, Esther Gavilanes (Mario Garcia), Yolanda (Gustavo) Guajardo, Gabriela (†Victor) Almanza and by numerous other family members and many friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
