ZAPATA, TEXAS---Richard "Richie" Corando Vela 14, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.

Richie is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mildred L. Rich and by uncles, Kenneth A. Rich and Jose "Joe" Vela.

Richie is survived by his mother, Janice Rich (Mario Alvarez); father, Ricardo Vela; brothers, Kristopher Essary (Johaida Resendez), Kenneth D. Rich; sisters, Stephanie Essary, Katie Vela; grandfather, William Rich and by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.

Richie attended Zapata High School and was a member of Class of 2023.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A chapel service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
