Lance Cpl., Ricardo Alonzo Martinez

ZAPATA, TEXAS---Ricardo Alonzo Martinez 64, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Laredo Specialty Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his children, Ricardo A. Martinez, Jr., Erika L. Martinez; father, Eulogio Martinez, Sr. and brother-in-law, Roberto C. Ramirez, Sr.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his daughter, Yanira L. Martinez, (Roel R. Guzman); mother, Maria E. Martinez; sisters, Guadalupe M. (†Roberto) Ramirez, Ana L. Mandujano; brothers, Eulogio (Florinda) Martinez, Jr., Jose A. (Rosalva) Martinez, Mario A. Martinez, Modesto M. Martinez, Epitacio J. (Rachel) Martinez, Luis O. (Josefina) Martinez; grandchildren, Roel R. Guzman, Jr., Rebecca B. Guzman, and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends. Special thanks to Patricia Garcia and family for the support and care provided.

Grateful thanks to Dr. Holt O. Olayinka and staff for their dedication during his stay at Laredo Specialty Hospital.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Funeral procession will depart at 10:30 am for an 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Refugio Catholic Church in San Ygnacio, Texas.

Committal services will follow at the Panteon del Pueblo Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the Zapata County Color Guard.
