ZAPATA, TEXAS- Ricardo E. Bernal 61, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Laredo Medical Center.

Mr. Bernal, is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Concepcion I. Bernal; brother, Arturo Bernal Jr.; sister, Elsa B. Escobar.

Mr. Bernal is survived by his wife, Angelica Martinez; daughters, Mayra (Freddy) Barrera, Marta Bernal, Yesenia (Javier) Paredes; grandchildren, Wilfredo Barrera Jr., Abby Barrera, Gabino Barrera, Bruno Barrera, Brianna Juarez; great grandchild, Wilfredo Barrera III; brothers, Mario Bernal, Ramiro Bernal, Benito Bernal; sisters, Virginia Hernandez, Maria Elena "Vicky" Escobar, Esmeralda Briones and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with a wake at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Thursday we open at 8:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
