ZAPATA, TEXAS---Rhoda Jones 79, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Laredo Specialty Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Ms. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Jones; companion, Charles "Chuck" Crabb; parents, William C. and Dora Penland; brothers, W.C. Penland, Ken Penland, Marcus Penland' sisters, Amber Penland, Sharon Ogden and Virginia Griffith.

Ms. Jones is survived by her sons, James Miller and John "Tim" Miller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace Penland and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Rhoda moved to Zapata in 1976 and worked at the American Legion for 10 years and she was also the manager of the VFW for 12 years.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 9 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
