ZAPATA, TEXAS---Ramon R. Gonzalez 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Gonzalez is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia B. Gonzalez; daughter, Baby, Maria C. Gonzalez; parents, Juan Manuel and Tomasita Gonzalez; brothers, Pedro Gonzalez, Margarito (Guadalupe) Gonzalez, Manuel Gonzalez, Santos (Amelia) Gonzalez and Norberto (Anita) Gonzalez; sisters, Maria Luisa (Alejandro) Garcia, Eliza (Braulio) Gutierrez and Maria De Los Angeles (Pablo) Navarro.

Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his sons, Ramon (Sylvia) Gonzalez, Luis A. Gonzalez; daughters, Leticia Gonzalez, Sandra Y. Gonzalez, Maria Del Carmen (Alejandro) Vargas, Patricia A. (Mireyda) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jessica Gonzalez, Ramon Gonzalez, III, Karina Gonzalez, Alicia Gonzalez, Julian Gonzalez, Horacio I. (Erika) Cuellar, Stephanie A. Gonzalez, Juan Manuel Gonzalez, Claudia (Jonathan) DuBois, Oscar (Leonor) Sanchez, III, Alejandro Vargas, Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Jose M. (Anita) Gonzalez; sister-in-law, Guadalupe Gonzalez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Mr. Gonzalez was a U.S. Veteran of WWII he began his service on May 16, 1945 in the U.S. Army Company A 5 ^th infantry (42nd Rainbow Division) Regiment 222. He completed his service as a Guard Patrolman 522 on November 9, 1946.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 486 Color Guard.
