ZAPATA, TEXAS— Petrita D. Thatcher ,72, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at South Texas Health System in McAllen, Texas.

Mrs. Thatcher is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Maria Dominguez; brother, Julio A. Dominguez.

Mrs. Thatcher is survived by her husband of 57 years Juan Thatcher Jr; sons, Juan B. (Gabriela) Thatcher, Billy J. (Annie) Thatcher; daughters, Edith E. (Andy) Magee, Sarah L. (Pedro) Torres; grandchildren, Juan B. Thatcher Jr., Kasandra G. Thatcher, Allison G. Thatcher, Andrew W. Magee Jr., Patric B. Magee, Daisy M. Magee, Kenneth J. Magee, Kaily J. Magee, Pedro E. Torres, Jacqueline N. Torres, Lilly A. Torres, Ricardo Torres; brothers, Juan Jose (Sylvia) Dominguez, Manuel J. (Zoila) Dominguez; sisters, Rosalva ( Robert R. "Buddy") Guerra, Nidia E. Dominguez and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, we will open at 10:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
