ZAPATA, TEXAS---Paula M. Thatcher, 89, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at her home in Zapata, Texas.


Mrs. Thatcher is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Thatcher; son, Oscar Thatcher; daughter, Maria Omedi Thatcher; grandson, John Anthony Thatcher; parents, Dionicio and Matiana Moreno; sisters, Martina Martinez and Edelmira Rosas.

Mrs. Thatcher is survived by her sons, Juan (Petrita) Thatcher, Jose Corando (Gloria)Thatcher, Derly (Arlina) Thatcher, and Rudy (Elisa) Thatcher; daughters, Maria Elena († Adrian, III) Ramirez, Viola (Sergio) Garcia, and Yolanda Thatcher (Joel Pacheco); grandchildren, Juan Benito (Gabriela) Thatcher, Edith (Andrew) Magee, Sarah (Pedro) Torres, Billy Jack Thatcher, Corando, (Lupita) Thatcher, Jr., Ricardo Thatcher, Derly (Valerie) Thatcher, Roberto (Jennifer) Thatcher, Selina (Victor) Sandoval, Lindsey (Humberto) Medina, Connie (Johnny) Jasso, Oscar J. Thatcher, Dora (Roberto) Valdez, Deborah (Eduardo) Sanchez, Adrian Ramirez, IV, Juan Angel (Rosalinda) Garcia, Sergio C. Garcia, Heriberto I. Garcia, Michelle O. Thatcher (Javier R. Garcia, Jr.), Melina L. (Ernesto, Jr.) Hernandez, Marlina L. Thatcher, Rudie Ann Thatcher (Randy Garza), Reannah R. Thatcher, Yolda J. (Raul) Gomez; numerous great-grandchildren and brother, Refugio Moreno.

Visitation hours were held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata Co. Cemetery in Zapata, Texas.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
