ZAPATA, TEXAS—Omar Saldaña 76, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Saldaña is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Andrea Omidee Saldaña, Omar A. Saldaña; parents, Candelario and Isabel Saldaña; brothers, Zaragoza Saldaña, Osiel Saldaña; sisters, Teofila (Erasmo) Guerra, Joaquina (Ramon) Moreno, Camila (Zaragoza) Elizondo and Arabela (Jose) Martinez.

Mr. Saldaña is survived by his wife of 53 years Maria Saldaña; son, Omar (Patricia) Saldaña; daughter, Virginia "Vickie" (Cesar Peña) Saldaña; grandchildren, Nathan Alexander Saldaña, Annacristina Saldaña, Andrea Cristina Saldaña; sisters, Eloisa (†Rito) Diaz, Manuela (†Alfonso) Barreiro, Eloida (†Jose) Ramirez; sister-in-laws, Bertha Saldaña, Guadalupe Saldaña and numerous other family members and friends.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, we will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, we will open at 8:00 a.m. and depart at 10:00 a.m. for committal services at Zapata County Cemetery.
