ZAPATA, TEXAS---Noe Barrera 49, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Cibolo, Texas.

Noe retired as an MSG after serving 20 years in the U.S. Army. He did one tour in Korea and served two tours in Iraq Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a proud member of the 1 ^st Calvary Association. He earned numerous medals including, Bronze Star Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 6 Army Commendation Medals, 10 Army Achievement Medals and an Air Force Achievement Medal to name a few.

Noe is survived by his mother, Beatriz M. (Hermenejildo) Gutierrez, father, Derly M. (Ramona) Barrera, wife, Erika Barrera; children, Myra C. Barrera, Riana (Evan) Patten, Noe Isael (Morgan) Barrera, Erika N. Moncada; siblings, Cynthia G. Salinas, Raquel (Jose) Medina, Jr., David (Margarita) Barrera, Manuel S. Barrera, Marco A. Barrera; his only beloved grandson, Elias Noe Barrera and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were SPC Noe Isael Barrera, CW4 (P) Scott Hahn, ISG (R) Scott Parks, Luis Veloz, Roman Gaytan, Javier Trejo, Juan F. Martinez, III and CW4 (R) Barnabe Guerra, Jr.

Visitation hours were held on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery including full Military Honors.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
