ZAPATA, TX---Ninfa Perez Solis passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by her sons and daughters-in-law on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Doctor's Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Born on 11/15/1959 in Lockney, Texas and grew up with her mother and sisters in Rio Grande City.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eulogio and Viola Perez and son, Christopher Martinez.

She will be honored and celebrated in memory by her husband, Leo Solis, Sr.; sons, Bobby Lee (Mia) Martinez, Jaime (Maritza) Martinez, Leo Jr.(Irasema) Solis, Celina (Oziel) Martinez;  sisters, Yolanda (AC, Cuellar, Jr.), Zulema (Carlos) Gonzalez, Esther (Richard) De Leon; she was further Blessed by 17 grandchildren whom she adored, and by numerous nephews, nieces other family members, friends who will greatly miss her.

Ninfa, also known as Ninfita, Auntie Ninie, Grandma, was a remarkable, gentle (sometimes stubborn) lady. Her family moved to Zapata, where she knew no one. She raised three sons, and  was embraced by this family oriented, small community. She became a forever Zapata Hawk fan and made life-long friends. Until her retirement from ZISD, she was a secretary at Zapata High School. The  students will remember her beautiful smile and perfectly made eye shadow that made her green eyes pop, and staff will remember how she worked tirelessly at whatever task she was asked to do.

Ninfa enjoyed life's little pleasures. While her illness limited her ability to "get-out", she loved to listen at the "goings on" of others. She kept up with family and friends from all across the country via her social media page. Besides her devotion to her family, she had 2 passions. One of her greatest joys was tending to her "Matitas". She was a member of the South Texas Gardening Club. She tended to all of her plants but battled tirelessly, the ants that could potentially destroy her rose bushes. She offered advice confidently and with great pleasure. She helped her sisters with "plant advice" advising them to be patient; We will forever take those nuggets of wisdom.

Ninfa was an amazing cook which resulted in the family always gathering at her kitchen table. In her kitchen were all kinds of gadgets big and small and giant coffee mugs.

She loved coffee. She could pull any meal together quickly and deliciously. Her specialty was the "Enchiladas". Many times she gave her recipe out but they never turned out like hers. Love was the ingredient that made them so delicious and special.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Zapata Co. Cemetery.
