Zapata, Texas- Minerva B. Arambula, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Mine, as she was affectionately called, is preceded in death by her husband, Andres J. Arambula, her parents, Silvestre and Maria Luisa Bustamante, son in law, Zaragoza Rodriguez, IV, brothers, Bernardo (Lydia), Silvestre Jr. (Guadalupe), and Jose Luis Bustamante.

Mine was born on July 19, 1940, in Zapata County, TX. She was raised at Las Comitas Ranch in Bustamante, TX, where she developed the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that would guide her throughout her life.

On February 21, 1967, she married the love of her life, Andres J. Arambula. Together they built a beautiful family and were blessed with three wonderful children. Mine was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. Family was the center of her life, and she faithfully supported them in their many activities and accomplishments until Alzheimer's disease gradually took its toll.

Mine had a joyful spirit and loved to dance, especially to her beloved Elvis Presley and the rock 'n' roll music she cherished. She also enjoyed traveling with her family. In their later years, Mine and Andres visited many parts of the United States, with one of their favorite destinations being Ruidoso Downs, NM.

Mine dedicated 24 years of service to ZCISD as a bus driver. She treasured her years with ZCISD and often shared wonderful stories about the students she transported. Many former students remember her fondly and have cherished memories of riding her bus.

A woman of deep faith, Mine was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She faithfully served as a member of the Sacred Heart Society and proudly held the position of Society President for many years. Her commitment to her church and community reflected her generous heart and unwavering devotion to serving others.

Mine will always be remembered for her kindness, her joyful laughter, her love of dancing, her dedication to her family, and the countless lives she touched through her work, her faith, and her friendship. Her legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. In Mami's words: "Es todo Bro!"

Mine is survived by her daughter, Veronica A. Cavazos, son, Andres Jesus (Andy) Arambula Jr. (Teresa L. Garcia), daughter, Maria Tomasita (Tammy) Rodriguez (Alfonso E. Rivera), grandsons, Ruben Rene Cavazos III (Mayra Martinez), Jesus Daniel Cavazos (Alejandra Anguiano) Daniel Arturo Rodriguez (Daniella Jo Guerra), Alfonso E. Rivera Jr., Rene Romeo Guerra and Randy Guerra Jr., granddaughters, Alynna Lizette Arambula, Anissa Isabel Arambula, Nadina Isabella Rodriguez, Roxana Andrea Rodriguez and Andrea Teresa Pena, great-grandchildren, Jose Alejandro Garcia, Katalina Roxana and Darely Dayana Cavazos, brother in law, Alberto Jose Arambula, sisters, Blanca B. Salinas (+Aureliano) and Maria Concepcion (Oscar) Villarreal and sister in law, Maria L. Bustamante. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Rene Cavazos III, Jesus Daniel Cavazos, Daniel Arturo Rodriguez, Alfonso E. Rivera, Alfonso E. Rivera Jr. and Jose Alejandro Garcia.

The Arambula family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and wholeheartedly thank the following individuals for their care and their love towards our mother:

Cynthia Villarreal (niece), Jacinta Juarez, Rosa Maria Gonzalez, Altus Hospice and her favorite nurse, Clemente Cruz Jr. We will forever be grateful for the compassionate care and unwavering support they provided to our beautiful mother.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Monday August 10, 2026, we will open at 8:00 a.m., the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal Services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
