ZAPATA, TEXAS---Michael J. Gillenwater 75, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Gillenwater is survived by his Daughter, Melody Vertucci, Son- Michael Werner, Son-Michael Shawn Gillenwater, Daughter-Shannan Gillenwater, Son-Stephen Gillenwater and wife Jamie Gillenwater, Daughter-Deborah Abdulhussein and husband Abbas Abdulhussein, Son-Kevin Gillenwater and Son-Jared Gillenwater; Grandchildren, Seth Gillenwater, Nathan Davis, Colton Gillenwater, Pauline Gillenwater and Hunter Champion; Great Grandchildren, Levi Davis and Jackson Davis; wife, Evalinda Paredes; step-sons, Gregorio (America) Paredes, Ricardo (Juana) Paredes, †Arnoldo (Nelda) Paredes, †Gilardo Paredes, Roberto (Rubi) Paredes; step-daughters, Nora (Jesus) Presas, Maria Isabel (Mario A.) Espinoza, Edith (Crisanto) Meza and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. with a chapel service at 4:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home including full Military Honors by the Zapata County Color Guard.
