ZAPATA, TEXAS--- Michael Douglas Finger, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Michael was born September 18, 1951 in Leake County Mississippi to Louis Albert Jr. and Mamie Nell Finger.

Family moved to Pearl River LA, where he attended Pearl River school, upon completion, went on to graduate from Slidell High School.

After graduation he went to work for the US Forestry Service in Eugene Oregon, returned home to attend family matters. While home furthered his education in electronics where he sought employment with Litton Industries at Engel shipyard, Pascagoula Miss. where he worked as electrical journeyman for the Nuclear Submarine fleet build. Retired to Zapata TX to aid his Mother in caretaking of his maternal grandparents. He volunteered at the Zapata County Library and was a board member at Zapata County Water Works.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, J. W & Jewel Green from Zapata TX, parents, Louis A. & Mamie Nell Finger of Zapata TX and his oldest sister, Nell Elizabeth Finger.

Michael is survived by his brother, Peter R. Finger of Pearl River LA; sister, Olivia Jewel Finger Filippelli of Bay Saint Louis, Miss.; nephews, Louis, Jarad, George; nieces, Amy Nell Elizabeth, Nicole; grandnieces, Sydney Jade and Sheyanna and grandnephews, James, Jeremy and Kaileb; aunts, Lib & Carol; paternal aunts, many cousins on both sides.

Every place he went he left many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
