Michael Elliott Donnelly, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Michael was born to James Edward Donnelly and Olga Muñoz Donnelly, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his three brothers: James Edward Donnelly Jr. of Zapata, Texas; John Keith Donnelly of Round Rock, Texas; and Daylon Thomas Donnelly (Christopher Howell) of The Dalles, Oregon.

He is also survived by his two sisters, Pamela Donnelly Green of Kingwood, Texas, and Susan Donnelly of Bryan, Texas.

Michael leaves behind his beloved nephews: David Michael Green Jr. of Beaumont, Texas; Willie Wesley Green IV (Tonya Hansen) of Long Beach, Mississippi; Dustin James Green of Kingwood, Texas; and Matthew Thomas Garcia of Bryan, Texas.

He is also survived by his nieces, Casey Marie Green of Webster, Texas, and Tracey Michelle Garcia of Bryan, Texas, along with many other cherished relatives and dear friends.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy in fishing and hunting. He treasured every opportunity to spend time in nature and especially enjoyed sharing those moments with family and friends. He was also a passionate sports fan throughout his life.
A proud Texan, Michael graduated from Texas State University after playing football for two years at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. He also played one summer season of professional baseball with the Tecolotes in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Michael will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his dedication to family, and the friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. with a Catholic Chapel service at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Zapata County Cemetery.
