ZAPATA, TEXAS---Martin Herrera 53, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.


Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his father, Abundio Herrera.

Mr. Herrera is survived by his wife, Claudia G. Herrera; son, Martin Herrera, Jr.; daughter, Blanca (Ricardo) Bautista; grandchildren, Ricardo Bautista, Jr., Raul Bautista, Diarely Bautista ; mother, Teresa Herrera; brothers, Raul (Gladys) Herrera, Conrado (Sylvia) Herrera, Juan Carlos (Laura) Herrera, Florentino (Norma) Herrera; sisters, Francisca (Hector) Martinez, Aurora (Freddy) Olivarez, Flora (Javier) Bocanegra and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Monday, January, 30, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.
