ZAPATA, TEXAS—Martha Granger Donaho passed away peacefully in her home on May 16, 2026. Born in Laredo, Texas, where she later met the love of her life Buddy Granger. They built a life together at Mecom Ranch, where they raised their 5 children, later settling in Zapata, Tx.

Known lovingly as "Nani" to her family, she was one of the strongest women anyone had the pleasure of knowing. She spoke her mind honestly and fearlessly. Always saying things exactly how they were, whether people liked it or not. Her strength, wittiness, stubborn spirit and unwavering love made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her.

Martha found great joy caring for her plants and yard, absolutely loved going to the maquinitas and socializing as often as she could, but nothing meant more to her than her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with each of them.

Martha leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that will continue through the generations, she nurtured so deeply. Nani will be missed beyond words, but her strength, love and memory will live on always, in the hearts of those who loved her, and were loved by her.

Near the end of her life, Nani said these words to her youngest daughter Jeannie "It wasn't always easy, but we sure made a lot of memories and had a lot of fun along the way." Now Jeannie finds herself holding those same words close to her heart and saying the very same thing. Mom, I know the road you walked was anything but easy, you fought your fight; now your race is done. Rest easy Mom.

Martha was preceded in death by her greatest love Buddy Granger, her oldest son Vaughn Granger her second husband Bug Donaho, her sisters/ best friends Mary Ann Robbins, Patsy Ruth Cavness and Avon Hatfield.

Left to cherish Martha's legacy are her children Terry (Dr. Ken) Baldwin, Billy Bob (Cynthia) Granger, Patricia Jones, Mary Jo (Robert) Howell, Jeannie (Kevin) Cooper, grandchildren, Billy Joe, Charlie, Jim Bob, Lacey, Vanessa, Katie, Brad, Amanda, Jacob, Randi, Buddy, Tessa, Jillian, Laney, Kaleb and Kelsey; 20 great grandchildren; her baby brother Robert (Patty) Edwards and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Martha's family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Adonis Zuniga Goldwater, Altus Hospice (especially Mel and Clem), her caregivers Lupita Montemayor and Eunice Rangel, Sheriff Ramon Montes and Sergeant Billy Butterfield.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
