ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria Teresa Peña 74, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Peña is preceded in death by her parents, Alejo and Dolores Gonzalez; brothers, Luis Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez and sister, Molly Martinez.

Mrs. Peña is survived by her husband, Hector Peña; sons, Hector Peña, Jr., Jose Trinidad Peña; daughters, Cynthia T. (Carlos) Salazar, Patsy Gonzalez; grandchildren, Carlos D. (Norbel) Salazar, Luis A. (Vanessa) Salazar, Ashley (Noel) Zamora, Melissa (Jose) Perez, Adriana Arambula; great-grandchildren, Carlos D. Salazar, Jr., Luis C. Salazar, Mindy Salazar, Luis Alberto Salazar, Luis Angel Salazar, Nayely De La Cruz; brothers, Alejo Gonzalez, Jr. Jessie Gonzalez; sisters, Yolanda Venegas, Armandina Martinez, Margie Villarreal, Alicia Martinez  and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A chapel service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at the Zapata County Cemetery.
