ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria del Socorro Gutierrez-Chapa, 88, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018  in Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Gutierrez-Chapa is preceded in death by her husband Eloy Gutierrez; parents, Guadalupe and Modesta Chapa; son, Baldemar Gutierrez; brothers, Francisco Chapa, Patricio Chapa, Guadalupe Chapa, Dionicio Chapa, Regino Chapa, Enrique Chapa; and granddaughter, Sonia Gutierrez.

Mrs. Gutierrez-Chapa is survived by her sons, Omar (†Trinidad) Gutierrez, Norberto (Rosario) Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez, Gustavo (Gregoria) Gutierrez, Jose A. Gutierrez; daughters, Rosa Elena (Jose) Gutierrez, Carolina († Howard) Gutierrez; daughter in law, Elena Gutierrez;  25 grand children, numerous great grand children,  and by nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Committal services will be at a later date at Panteon Rancho Nuevo, Agualeguas, Mexico.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
