María Alba Saenz born November 2, 1946 in Zapata, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2022 at the age of 75.

She received her Bachelor's at Texas Women's University and a Master's at A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. A graduate of San Agustín Catholic School in 1964. Her legacy as educator began in 1967 at Santa Maria Elementary, taught at L.J. Christen Middle, and was a Reading Facilitator at Memorial Middle School for the Laredo Independent School District. An educator for over 30 years, she was passionate about teaching, enjoyed dancing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. A woman strong in her faith, she devoted much time in prayer, worship, and helping those in need.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents Gustavo and Blanca Villarreal,  her brother Luis Rene Villarreal, and her nephew Eduardo Manuel Villarreal,  Jr.

She is survived by her son, Saul E. Saenz (Mercedez) and her beloved grandsons Saul Jr., Sergio, Taiga "Tai".  Also, her brothers Gustavo (Rose) Villarreal,  Eduardo Manuel (Gloria) Villarreal,  José Javier (Claudia) Villarreal, sister Blanca Estela (+ Abel) Rodriguez, her lifetime friend Saul Saenz, and her numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

May we all strive to be as kind and gentle-hearted as she was. Though gone from this world, she will never be forgotten.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Monday, April 4, 2022 we will open at 8:00 a.m. and the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at El Ranchito Cemetery.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in San Martin de Porras Catholic Church in Laredo, Texas.
