ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria E. "Maya" Guzman 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Ms. Guzman is preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Antonia Guzman and brothers, Cosme Guzman and Miguel Guzman.

Ms. Guzman is survived by her sister, Luisa G. Creel; nephews and nieces, Cynthia C. (Billy B.) Granger, Angel (Mague) Rodriguez, Rosa (Ismael), Leticia Guzman, Desidora Guzman, Sylvia McElroy, Romelia Guzman, Cosme Guzman, Jr., Amalia Guzman, Antonia Guzman, Sylvia Guzman, Miguel Guzman, Jr., Alfonso (Missy) Guzman; grand-nephews and grand-nieces, Billy J. (Laura) Granger, Jim B. Granger, Vanessa (David) Porras, Angel Jr. (Allison) Rodriguez, Teresa (John Jr.) Hill, Roxanna (Daniel) Hinojosa and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Zapata County Cemetery.

Due to the current pandemic family has requested a private viewing for immediate family only. Public can remain in their vehicles while at funeral home and follow in the procession to cemetery and again remain in the vehicles while funeral is taking place at the Zapata Co. Cemetery. Family would like to thank everyone for the prayers or any other acts of kindness.
