ZAPATA, TEXAS — Maria Guadalupe Guerra "Doña Lupita" entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her residence in Zapata, Texas.
Mrs. Guerra was preceded in death by her husband Jose Angel Guerra; granddaughter, Mirza Guadalupe Gonzalez; parents, Ildefonso and Santos Garcia; brothers, Manuel (Tocha) Garcia, Jose Maria (Josefa) Garcia, Domingo Garcia; sisters, Enedina Garcia, Ernestina (Maximo) Moreno, Maria (Isaias) Lozano.
She is survived by her sons, Ezequiel (†Armandina) Guerra, Elias (Mayra) Guerra; daughters, Sanjuana (Juan Armin) Ramirez, Rosa (Rafael) Benavides, Guadalupe (Juan) Gonzalez, Benita (Lorenzo) Garza, Mari (Martin) Garcia; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great - great grandchildren; brother, Abundio (Irene) Garcia; sister, Juanita (†Gabriel) Guzman; sister in-law, Aurelia Almaguer Garcia; brother in-law, Artemio Garcia and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
On Thursday July 23, 2026, we will open at 8:00 a.m. the funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for an 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
