Maria Socorro (Chickie) Gonzalez 86, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Miss Gonzalez, was born at San Jose Ranch in Lopeno, Texas and was a Zapata High School graduate. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Barbarita B. Gonzalez, Twin Sister Esperanza, sisters Rosa Ena and Arabela G. Bishop and her brother in law Darwin M. Harrison Bishop.

Miss Gonzalez is survived by her niece, Egna Arabela Villarreal and nephew Derly Villarreal, Jr., Grand nephew Javier A. (Veronica) Ramirez, Jr., Grand Nieces Angela D. and Norma M. Ramirez, Great Grand Niece Arielle and Great Grand Nephews Adan Derly and Sebastian

Miss Gonzalez loved the outdoors. Her hobbies included ranching and gardening.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
