ZAPATA, TEXAS—Maria Elvia Garza 68, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

Mrs. Garza is preceded in death by her husband, Miguel A. Garza Sr.; parents, Ramon and Francisca Gonzalez; brothers, Juan Ramon (Maria Guadalupe) Gonzalez, Mario (Adela) Gonzalez; sisters, Elsa G. Gutierrez, Esther Gonzalez, Edna (Homero) Garcia, Elena (Francisco J.) Guzman.

Mrs. Garza is survived by her son, Miguel (Rosalba) Garza Jr.; brother, Javier (Juana) Gonzalez, Homero (Esmeralda) Gonzalez, Pablo Gonzalez; sisters, Elia (Felipe Jr.) Garza; brother-in-law, Juan D. Gutierrez and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
