ZAPATA, TEXAS---In the early morning of Sunday, August 6, 2023, Maria Nelia Dominguez Cortez, 74, passed away peacefully in the city of Corpus Christi.

Ms. Cortez is preceded in death by her parents, Raymundo Dominguez and Matiana Dominguez.

Ms. Cortez is survived by her children Alberica Garza (Ricardo), Leonor Cortez, and Leonel Cortez Jr. (Delilah), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many beloved grandpets. She is also survived by her brothers, nieces and nephews, many other family members & beloved friends.

A service in her honor will be held at the Rose Garden Funeral Home in Zapata, Texas on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:30 a.m.

Following the service, Maria Nelia will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Zapata County Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
