ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria Chavez 62, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Zapata, Texas.

Ms. Chavez is preceded in death by her sons, Jorge Ortiz Chavez, Jose Manuel Chavez; grandson, Angel Bustamante; parents, Pedro and Florencia Chavez; brothers, Beto Chavez, Vicente Chavez and sisters, Socorro Chavez and Rebecca Chavez.

Ms. Chavez is survived by her sons, Mario Alberto (Claudia) Ortiz Chavez, Jose Dimas Ortiz Chavez, daughters, Leticia Isabel Ortiz Chavez, Rosa Nelly (Victor) Mendez, Reyna (Eduardo E.) Bustamante; grandchildren, Alondra Ortiz Juarez, Gael Ortiz Juarez, Jimena Ortiz Juarez, Antonio Ortiz Chavez, Rene Ibarra, Jorge Corpus Ortiz, Danely Corpus Ortiz, Alan Mendez, Eduardo E. Bustamante, Jr., Mario Bustamante, Benjamin Bustamante; brothers, Elias Chavez, Issac Chavez, Israel Chavez, Pedro Chavez; sister, Petra Chavez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
