ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria del Carmen Mercado 62, passed away on July 14, 2019 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Ms. Mercado is preceded in death by her daughters, Maria de la Luz Ponce, Olga San Juanita Barrios; parents, Trinidad and Patrocinia Mercado; brothers, Trinidad Mercado, Manuel Mercado, Rodolfo Mercado, Jose Luis Mercado and sister, Gloria Escalante.

Ms. Mercado, is survived by her daughters, Laura Mercado (Jorge Luis) Rodriguez, Norma (Daniel) Sanchez, Rocio (Valentin) Netro, Maria Guadalupe (Julio) Cabriales, Maria Anotonia Barrios; grandchildren, Cynthia Jazmen Loza, Norma Isabel Cabriales, Daniel Sanchez Jr., Maribel Sanchez, Ramon Martimiano Sanchez, Amanda Lorain Sanchez, Irene Lee Netro, San Juanita Netro, Rosie Netro, Valentin Netro, Jr. , Bellanid Netro, Nelly Guadalupe Mercado, Kasandra Magdalena Mercado, Jennifer Mercado, Kathryn Ponce, Gerardo Emeterio Ovalle, Yesenia del Carmen Rosas, Sandra Belen Cabriales, Julia L. Cabriales, Julio Cabriales Jr. , Jose A. Gonzalez, Alba L. Gonzalez, Fernando L. Gonzalez, Lilybeth Gonzalez; and by numerous great grandchildren, brother, Carlos Mercado; sisters, Maria de los Angeles M. Sowell, Elia  Lamar Mercado, and by nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
