ZAPATA, TEXAS---Maria Emma Bernal 73, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Laredo Specialty Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Bernal is preceded in death by her father, Domingo Garcia; brothers, Tomas Garcia, Rufino (Graciela) Garcia and Jose David Garcia.

Mrs. Bernal is survived by her husband of 52 years, Juan M. Bernal; sons, Martin (Mayte) Bernal, Juan M. Jr. (Monica) Bernal; daughter, Sobeida (Jesus L.) Alanis; grandchildren, Jesus L. Alanis, Jr., Karina Alanis, Brenda Bernal, Denise Bernal, Luis Angel Bernal, Yanet Bernal, Yasmin Bernal; mother, Maria De La Luz Mtz de Garcia; brothers, Cayetano (†Ofelia) Lopez, Aurelio Garcia, Gabriel Garcia (Rosa), Eleazar Garcia, Mario Alberto (Lucia G.) Garcia; sister, Anna Maria (Adolfo) Maldonado and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Friday, January 26, 2018 we will open at 8 a.m., a chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
