FALCON,TEXAS- Maria Adelina Guerra, 78, passed away on September 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply.

Maria Adelina was born on August 12, 1948, in Falcon, Texas, to Amador and Alma Yzaguirre Zapata.

 Falcon was not only her birthplace, but a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life. It was there that many of her roots were planted her love of family, her Catholic faith, and the values she would later pass on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On April 12, 1969, Maria Adelina married the love of her life, Raul Guerra Jr. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage and built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love. Through the years, they experienced life's many seasons side by side, creating a home filled with memories and raising their two children, Selma Ann Guerra Ramirez (Marcus Jay Ramirez) and R. David Guerra (Marlen Guerra). 

Of all the roles Maria Adelina held throughout her life, being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were among those she treasured most. Her family was truly the center of her world. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren, Adelina Cecilia Ramirez; Kelsie Dannyck Guerra (Clyde); Evan Eden Ramirez (Brianna); Marcus Jay Ramirez II; and Ryan David Guerra (Kaitlyn Garcia). Her family continued to grow with the arrival of her two great-grandchildren, Clyde Guerra IV and Sophia Magdalene Ramirez, who brought a special kind of joy to her heart.

To her family, Maria Adelina was so much more than the matriarch of the family. She was a source of love, strength, comfort, and togetherness. She found happiness in knowing that her family was near, and some of the most meaningful moments of her life were simply those spent surrounded by the people she loved. Whether it was a family gathering, a meal shared around the table, a conversation, or an ordinary day spent together, she had a way of making those moments meaningful.

Maria Adelina enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing. These were more than hobbies; they were opportunities to enjoy life and make memories with those around her.

She also had a love for cooking, and preparing food was one of the many ways she showed her love for her family. Her kitchen and her table became gathering places where stories were told, laughter was shared, and generations of her family came together. Above all, Maria Adelina treasured time with her family. She took great pride in watching her children build families of their own and in seeing her grandchildren grow. The love she had for them was evident in the time she gave, the memories she created, and the traditions she helped establish. Her greatest legacy can be found in the family she loved so deeply and in the values she instilled in each generation.

Maria Adelina was also a woman of deep and unwavering Catholic faith. Her faith was an important part of her daily life and guided the way she loved, served, and cared for others. She was actively involved in her parish in Falcon, where she faithfully gave of her time and remained devoted to her church community. Her relationship with God was a source of strength throughout her life, and the faith she practiced and shared remains an important part of the legacy she leaves with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Amador Zapata and Alma Yzaguirre Zapata; her youngest brother, David Zapata; her in-laws, Raul Guerra Sr. and Lilia Lopez Guerra; her sister, Nedina Rodriguez, her nephews, Jaime Zapata and William Zapata; and her brother in law Romeo Guerra.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years, Raul Guerra Jr.; her children, Selma Ann Guerra Ramirez and husband Marcus Jay Ramirez, and R. David Guerra and wife Marlen Guerra; her grandchildren, Adelina Cecilia Ramirez, Kelsie Dannyck Guerra (Clyde), Evan Eden Ramirez (Brianna), Marcus Jay Ramirez II, and Ryan David Guerra; and her great-grandchildren, Clyde Guerra IV and Sophia Magdalene Ramirez.

She is also survived by her siblings, Amador Zapata (Manuela), Alma Diana Canales (Romeo),Jorge Zapata (Rosa), Humberto Yzaguirre (Marta) and Samuel Rodriguez; her brothers-in-law,Roel Guerra (Rosalinda) and Roberto Guerra (Pilar); and as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Her faith was her foundation, her family was her greatest blessing, and her love will live on through every generation that follows.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart at 10:00 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Falcon, Texas.

Committal Services will follow at Falcon Cemetery.
