ZAPATA, TEXAS—Margarita Villarreal,  passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in McAllen Texas.

Mrs. Villarreal is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Villarreal; parents, Matia and Manuela Moreno; in-laws, Pablo and Lorenza Villarreal; brother, Ruben Moreno; sisters, Bertha Moreno, Oralia (Juventino) Ramirez; Celia (Pedro) Flores.

Mrs. Villarreal is survived by her sons, Manuel Villarreal Jr., Matias Villarreal; sisters, Dora Estela (Guerrero) Barron, Felipa Elia (†Juan) Bazan, Lucia Esmeralda (Leopoldo) Martinez, Marisol (†Julian Alberto) Gonzalez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday May 6, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm  at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Thursday May 7, 2026 we will open at 9:00 am with a chapel service at 10:00 am at Rose Garden Funeral Home

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
