ZAPATA TEXAS--- Margarita Elizondo 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 in Falcon Lake Nursing Home in Zapata Texas.

Mrs. Elizondo is preceded in death by her parents, Cristino and Librada Garza; brother, Angel Garza; sisters, Cristina Garza, Carolina (Hector) Copado.

Mrs. Elizondo is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ovidio Elizondo; daughters, Thelma (Hector) Sanches, Maribel (Jose R.) Bustamante Jr., Cynthia (Sergio A) Aradillas, Noemi Elizondo, Miroslava (Clay) Kofron; grandchildren, Sonia (Sheriff Ramon) Montes, Sandy Sanchez, Daniel A. Gutierrez (Nallely), A.J. Martinez, Jerry Martinez, Alberto Ovidio Aradillas, Samaria Aradillas, Alex (Yvette) De Leon, Joey De Leon, Sergio R. Montalvo, Ian Venegas, Joseph Kofron, Evan Kofron; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Alma (†Javier) Peña, and by numerous family members and friends

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, we will open at  8:30 a.m. with a rosary at 10:00 a.m. at  Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for a 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
