Marcelina "Hilda" Maymi Briseño went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on January 2, 2022 at the age of 91. Mrs. Briseño is preceded in death by her husband, Armando Briseño, her parents, Manual Maymi and Juana Rodriguez Dias; and her son, Dennis Lee Moran.

Mrs. Briseño is survived by her daughters, Jane B. Jones, Rosaline R. Dias, Jean A. Moran, Toni L. Moran; brother, Manual R. Dias, nieces Rosalyn (Alex) Concepcion, Andrea (Jason) Dias-Machado, grandchildren, Sheila Mitchell, Danny Maxwell, Alan Jones, Rochelle (Oscar) Diaz, Maile (Gary) Hernandez; Brian Lee, Anthony (Stacy) Ordonez, Dennis Ordonez, Brett Moran, and eleven great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.

Marcelina was born on April 25, 1930 in Caguas, Puerto Rico and she was baptized in 1932 where she was given the name of "Hilda". When she was just shy of 17, her mother and her moved to the Hawaiian Territory after World War II, traveling by ship to Florida, train across the United States to San Francisco and then on to the Hawaiian Islands on the Marine Phoenix on June, 24, 1947. She graduated from Farrington High School on the island of O'ahu.  Received an LVN in nursing at Ventura College.

She married her first husband Antonio John Moran Jr., a marine stationed at Kanoehe Marine Base and started a family.  She worked various jobs before attending college, in 1980, she secured a nursing credential and started working as a LVN Nurse at the Ventura County Medical Center where she worked for several years.

In 1970, Marcelina married her husband of 49 years, Armando Briseño and they purchased their first home in El Rio, California. They dedicated their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and established the first of two "Iglesia de Dio" congregations in their home in El Rio. As a couple they loved writing songs and singing praises to the Lord and providing a supportive community to those seeking the Lord.  They both retired in 1988 and moved to Zapata, Texas where they build their home and later opened their home to many foster children. The helped establish Iglesia Cristo Misionera.

Marcelina served as a pastor for many years and will be missed by her congregation.

A private burial is schedule for March 18 ^th at the Zapata County Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on April 23,2022 at 10:00 AM at Monte Zion Church, 1701 Fiske Pl, Oxnard, CA 93033 Phone: (805) 240-7744)
